MIFF has established itself as the most eagerly awaited short film festival of the
world- the biggest in Asia and one of he biggest in the world. It offers a friendly
platform o the short filmmakers to showcase their films, gives recognition to their
excellence and provides an opportunity for interaction and exchange of ideas. Over
the twelve years of its existence MIFF has become an integral part of the world
documentary and short film scenario. MIFF makes things happen, but things don't
end there.
Jatin Sarkar, Director MIFF '2002, vows to make MIFF a moving force - a vehicle
to carry the documentary and short films movement ahead. He believes that documentary
and short films need to be made available for viewership at a much larger canvas.
"The real success of MIFF will be on that day when documentary and short films will
be shown across the country, particularly the rural areas."
" There is tremendous potential. All that is required is the will to do so. Will
- on the part of the government, the filmmakers, the film industry and the media."
The Director adds on a positive note.
